Eurozone inflation was stable at 2.2 % in April. This is according to Eurostat's flash estimate. The 'flash' estimate of inflation in Italy in April was also stable at 2.1% (harmonised indices of consumer prices, HICP). Among the highest values were Estonia (4.4%), Latvia and the Netherlands (4.1%). At the lowest was France with 0.8%, while the Italian rate was the fifth highest in the euro area. Services remained the largest component (3.9% from 3.5%), followed by food, alcohol and tobacco (3% from 2.9%). Energy is still falling (-3.5%, from -1%).
