The fortunate ones find themselves with large sums of money, but without the right training to manage them. Most may not reach such high levels, but even without such large assets, the situation does not change: whether large or small, managing savings requires a level of financial education that is often lacking. And in the sporting sector there should perhaps be more than in other contexts because in this case the time factor plays a fundamental role. In the soul one is an athlete and sportsman forever, in the physical one is not, and financial planning is essential.
The Al Bar Sport project
.So in the month of financial education, the Bar Sport Project is all the more indispensable. The initiative, devised by Francesca Bertelli, Daniele Rippa and Matteo Cerutti - a team of young professionals and former students of the Political School Living in the Community, in collaboration with FEduF the Foundation for Financial Education and Savings (Abi), the Dsge of UnitelmaSapienza and the Interbank Deposit Protection Fund (which on this occasion, presents the 'Economy and Banking Pills' explained by Fitd) opens with the testimony of two athletes, Asia and Alice D'Amato.
The objective of the initiative
.Basically, through Al Bar Sport, sportspeople have the opportunity to bridge that cultural gap that does not allow them to plan their investment choices in a structural, personalised and far-sighted manner. In fact, it is a space where economic topics are discussed and links are found between financial education and the world of sport, through video recordings of financial education pills.
In the medium to long term, Al Bar Sport intends to turn the lack of financial literacy into an opportunity for growth, offering basic financial education to sportsmen and women and spreading financial literacy in the sports world.
Gender inequality
.Even in the field of sport, there are substantial salary differences between women and men, and through the dissemination of a financial culture, the intention is to eliminate this gap as well, all the more so since the number of women practising sport at various levels is constantly growing. In recent years, Censis has estimated that more than 8.5 million women participate in sports, making up 43.3% of the total number of sportsmen and women. To these are added 9 million women who do at least some physical activity. Overall, 59.4% of Italians take part in sport and/or motor activity.
