Federculture national contract signed. Increases of 7.5% and doubling of contributions for supplementary health care

The signing of the Federculture national labour contract has arrived. The agreement, signed with the trade unions Fp Cgil, Cisl Fp, Uil Fpl and Uil Pa, makes the provisions of the renewal for the three-year period 2022-2024 fully effective. With the agreement, the measures envisaged, including salary increases, welfare and new rules on grading, become operative, while the parties undertake to immediately start discussions for the 2025-2027 period.

Among the qualifying elements of the contract, the revision of the personnel classification system is one of the most important interventions: the areas remain three, but the levels are reduced and reorganised into a simpler and more readable structure with the aim of making classifications and career paths clearer. In the transition to the new system, the full safeguarding of individual salaries is also ensured, through the recognition of a specific economic component that cannot be reabsorbed, designed to protect workers already in force. On the economic level, the renewal provides for an overall increase of 7.5% of the minimum wage, effective from 1 December 2024, and the contractual welfare system is also strengthened. The contribution for supplementary health care is doubled to EUR 28.17 per month for each permanent employee. Also thanks to this measure, the overall economic increase exceeds 8%.

The signing of the contract is not only an achievement but also a starting point. In fact, the date has already been set for 26 May to reopen negotiations for the renewal of the three-year period 2025-2027 and thus continue the work undertaken in this phase for the growth of the sector and work in culture.

The Federculture contract 'which has always been the main reference for those who work in culture, further affirms itself as a current and concrete tool available to companies and workers. The effectiveness of the action we are taking is confirmed by the data that tell us how, in the last year alone, its application in the sector has progressed by 30%", stated Federculture president Andrea Cancellato. The renewal represents, therefore, "a decisive step for the sector, because it combines concrete economic results, new protections, and a long-awaited reform of the classification system, without leaving anyone behind. It is the result of shared work that has seen the main trade union organisations engaged, and which confirms that culture is a strategic sector, not only for the identity of the country but also for its economic growth'.
