He was born in Milan on 14.01.1971 and graduated in Law at 'La Sapienza' University in Rome. During his career, he has held various positions in the communication and information sectors, serving for some of the largest publishing groups operating in Italy.
In the more than 30 years of his professional career, he has had the opportunity to gain experience in all types of media, from print media to television, from radio to digital platforms, up to events and the latest generation of media, while at the same time developing a profound knowledge of the market and business logic.
After starting his career at Deutsche Bank, he first joined the 24 Ore Group in the late 1990s in the Radiocor division. Among his most significant subsequent experiences, he then participated in the start-up of e.Biscom, which later became Fastweb, and worked at RCS Mediagroup and Agenzia Ansa.
Returning to the 24 ORE Group on 1 October 2018, he held the position of General Manager Media & Business with responsibility for the Publishing & Digital areas of Il Sole 24 Ore, Radio 24, Radiocor and the advertising concessionaire 24 Ore System. In addition to this position, for the 24 ORE Group he is Managing Director of 24 ORE Cultura, Managing Director of Il Sole 24 ORE U.K. and Managing Director of 24 ORE Eventi, of which he oversaw the start-up in 2020.
Federico Silvestri is a member of the General Council of FIEG (Italian Federation of Newspaper Publishers), Confindustria Radio TV and AICC (Cultural and Creative Companies Association of Confindustria). He is a member of the Board of Directors of Audicom (formerly Audipress and Audiweb) and Federal Councillor of FCP (Federation of Advertising Licensees). In the world of radio, he was President of TER, Tavolo Editori Radiofonici, for three terms from 2021 and is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Audiradio, E.R.A. (Editori Radiofonici Associati) and P.E.R. (Player Editori Radio).
