Fendi returns to the Rome catwalks and resumes haute couture: appointment on 9 July
Creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri chooses her hometown, where Fendi was founded in 1925, to bring her most precious collection, which had been discontinued in 2024, back to the catwalk
A debut reminiscent of a return, the one that unites Maria Grazia Chiuri and Rome. Next 9th July, in fact, the creative director of Fendi will bring the haute couture collection of the maison of the Lvmh group, founded in Rome in 1925, to her hometown (the location has not yet been made known), a little more than a year after the fashion show with which, again in Rome, she bid farewell to the creative leadership of Dior.
In 2015, Fendi had launched a first couture collection, dedicated to Haute Fourrure, the haute couture, which has always been at the heart of the maison's creativity, still under the leadership of Karl Lagerfeld; the first Haute Couture collection was presented in Paris in 2021, signed by Kim Jones, to be discontinued in 2024.
In Rome, Fendi, which last year celebrated 100 years since its foundation, had already walked the runway in 2016, for its 90th, with the AW 16-17 collection "Legends and Fairy Tales", on the set of the Trevi Fountain, and in 2019, with the fashion show-event "The Dawn of Romanity" against the backdrop of the Temple of Venus and Rome, a tribute to Karl Lagerfeld a few months after his death.
