Ferrari HC25 one-off to celebrate the non-hybrid V8
Based on the F8 Spider, it combines new styling with a non-hybrid V8 engine
Key points
It is called the HC25 and it is the new custom-built car by Ferrari. A unique example, a so-called one-off, which stems from the Special Projects programme
The car has been designed by the Ferrari Design Studio under the direction of Flavio Manzoni and is based on the architecture of the F8 Spider, from which it inherits its layout, chassis and thermal engine. The HC25 is an internal combustion mid-rear engined V8 car and uses the platform of Ferrari's latest open-top with a non-hybridised mid-rear engined turbo V8.
New Ferrari HC25
The project is part of the One-Off series, i.e. the Ferrari programme dedicated to the creation of one-offs developed from a customer's request. The process involves working with the Ferrari Design Studio, defining the design, developing the technical details, building a scale model and then building the car. According to Ferrari, the cycle takes about two years and involves the customer in the development and design verification stages.
The HC25 is based on the technical basis of the F8 Spider but differs in its bodywork and styling. The body is built around two volumes, with the front and rear separated visually by a black, wraparound, three-dimensional central fascia. This element integrates functions related to thermal management, with air inlets to the radiant masses and evacuation of powertrain heat. The light clusters were developed for this model. At the front, the headlamps use specific modules and a thin lens with a central indentation, linked to the split design of the rear lights.
