FIFA: UEFA is preparing to file a complaint against Infantino for “breach of trust”

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - UEFA is preparing a complaint under Swiss law against FIFA President Gianni Infantino for “breach of trust”, in relation to the subsequently abandoned plan to open up ownership of the World Cup to private investors. This was reported to AFP by a source close to the case. The plan had been pursued in secret before coming to light and being withdrawn over the summer. According to UEFA, Infantino’s conduct in this matter caused “direct and tangible damage to FIFA’s reputation”. The European governing body has filed a preliminary request with the Florida courts to obtain the disclosure of documents relating to the project.
