The measure through the de minimis regime and the tax credit formula for companies that have set up by 31 December 2023 at least one operational unit in a municipality with less than 3,000 inhabitants
An economic incentive to businesses to counter the depopulation of small towns. This is the initiative promoted by the Region of Sardinia, which has decided to spend 40 million euro this year. These sums will be disbursed in accordance with the 'de minimis' regime, precisely to "encourage the development and growth of municipalities with a population of less than 3,000 inhabitants.
The measure is a tax credit and is intended for companies with tax domicile in Sardinia 'that have set up at least one operational unit in the territory of a small municipality by 31 December 2023'.
"The tax credit," the regional government says, "is commensurate with 40 per cent of the tax due and paid as resulting from the income and IRAP declarations for the year 2023 and an additional EUR 2,000 for each employee hired with an open-ended contract in 2023.
The total allocation for the year 2025 is almost EUR 40 million and the measure will be disbursed through the Sardinian Revenue Agency on an 'over-the-counter' basis and until resources are exhausted.
