Final green light for the AI Act, the first law in the world

Final unanimous green light of the EU Council to the AI Act, the European Artificial Intelligence Act governing the development, marketing and use of AI systems in the EU. The law, lthe world's first on the subject, dictates a number of obligations to suppliers and developers of artificial intelligence systems based on different levels of identified risk. The new rules will apply two years after entry into force, with the exception of bans, which will be triggered after six months, controls on artificial intelligence systems for general purposes, including governance (12 months), and obligations for high-risk systems (36 months).
