The amendments to the Road Code, introduced by Law 177/2024, enter into force today. However, a number of regulations (such as the extension of the list of offences that can also be detected remotely) will have to wait, as implementing provisions are still lacking. As usual, the focus is on the fines: what changes? What are the new fines (actually, to be precise, they are administrative penalties)?
A smalllist may help us better understand the immediate impact on the most important (and diverse) administrative sanction treatments.

In this case, there is no tightening of sanctions, but 'only' an increase in obligations and prohibitions.
The obligation to wear a protective helmet (complying with the harmonised technical standards UNI EN 1078 or UNI EN 1080) also applies to adults. In the event of non-compliance, an administrative sanction of the payment of a sum of between 50 and 250 euros is triggered.
Scooters will no longer be allowed to circulate on cycle paths and will only be allowed to use urban roads with a speed limit of no more than 50 km/h: in the event of a violation, the same penalty will be imposed.
