Fire in Turate: shed ablaze with animals inside

A huge fire is raging on the outskirts of Milan; a thick plume of smoke rose into the sky at around 6.30 pm. Firefighters are currently at the scene. The cloud is clearly visible even from northern Milan, for example from the offices of *Il Sole 24 Ore*. Smoke was still visible at 8.00 pm

A tall column of smoke visible from kilometres away. The roof of the building is completely engulfed in flames: fire crews from Como, Appiano, Lomazzo, Varese and Saronno are at the scene. As reported by Province of Como by the time the fire brigade arrived, the roof of the building was already completely engulfed in flames, posing a real risk of structural collapse and endangering the livestock trapped inside.

The operations centre urgently requested substantial support from neighbouring provincial headquarters, dispatching additional vehicles and personnel from Varese and Saronno to the scene.
