Fire in an occupied building in Rome, a man injured: he jumped to escape the flames

He allegedly jumped out of a window to escape the flames: transported to hospital in a red code, his life is in danger. It happened in Rome, where an abandoned and illegally occupied building in Via Tallone (eastern outskirts of the city) caught fire.

The column of smoke rising from the Tor Cervara area is still visible from miles away. The fire is said to be under control, but thick smoke remains enveloping the area, due to the large quantity of various types of waste materials accumulated both on the first floor and in the basement. Firefighters are working to remove the piles of material and complete the extinguishing process by smothering the smoke with foam. Bulldozers are also on their way to remove the material.
