Medal number 600 with Bernard-Plebani
Lorenzo Bernard, blind from a bomb blast, and his guide Davide Plebani won bronze in the 4000 m B individual pursuit in track cycling. It is medal number 600 ever at the Paralympics for Italy. "It is a magnificent medal that I dedicate to everyone who supported me, my family, coaches, friends," said Bernard, who has been partnering Plebani for just over a year. "Lorenzo worked very hard and it was not easy, but we found a good feeling in just one year," concluded the rider.

Carlotta Gilli and Francesco Bocciardo, reigning Paralympic champions, win gold as they did in Tokyo. The 23-year-old athlete from Moncalieri, swimming smoothly and regularly, dominated the 100 butterfly S13, leaving behind Grace Nuhfer (USA) and Muslima Odilova (Uzbekistan), and the 30-year-old Italian won the 200 style S5, also setting a new Paralympic record (2:25.99).
