'Differentiated Italy. Autonomia regionale e divari regionali' (Rubbettino Editore), is the title of the book by Vittorio Daniele and Carmelo Petraglia dedicated to the reform of Title V of the Constitution and the Calderoli law. Definitions, analysis and, against the backdrop of political and institutional events of over 20 years, interesting comparisons: between Italy and Spain, Italy and Belgium, Italy and Germany.

"The problem is not regionalism, but that mess of the Calderoli law". More or less all agree with Francesco Aiello, professor of Economic Policy at Unical, the economists, jurists and trade unionists present in the Department of Economics, Statistics and Finance at the Calabrian university. Regional President Roberto Occhiuto was also at the speakers' table. The text sparked a heated debate, with speeches by Guerino D'Ignazio, professor of regional and local government law and one of the most fervent Calabrian regionalists, Prof. Damiano Silipo and Massimo Costabile, and trade unionists Angelo Sposato (CGIL) and Maria Elena Senese (UIL). They all concluded with one of the authors, Vittorio Daniele, that the danger is territorial disparities: 'Until the principles of social cohesion are realised, there is no reason to think that differentiated autonomy will produce different outcomes'.
