The legislative decree on the revision of the IRPEF and IRES income tax system, initially expected at today's Council of Ministers, has been postponed. The measure, in whose drafts the bonus for thirteenth month was included, is in fact not on the agenda of the meeting. The decree will reportedly go to the Council of Ministers for preliminary examination next week.

According to drafts circulating in the last few hours, the measure provides for a Christmas bonus of up to EUR 100 for single-income families. The beneficiaries will be employees with incomes up to EUR 28,000 who have a wife and at least one dependent child. The contribution will arrive directly in the pay envelope and will be paid by the employer with the 13th month's salary.

The intervention with the delegated decree

.

The 80 euro bonus that had appeared in the first drafts of the decree on the Irpef and Ires reform had disappeared from the latest version of the tax measure. As the deputy minister for the economy, Maurizio Leo, has repeatedly emphasised, the hypothesised intervention to support families with lower incomes is still being investigated by the offices 'in order to finalise a decree that is compatible with the needs of taxpayers and at the same time respectful of public finance balances'.

Support for single-income households

A balance that at this point could be found on the contribution of up to 100 for those with a wife and dependent child and an income of up to EUR 28,000.

Resources from the composition agreement

.

The estimated cost is EUR 100 million to be financed by the increased revenue expected from the new two-year composition agreement.
