Fisiopharma starts recruitment for new plant in Palomonte (Salerno)

The first recruitments and related training courses have started in view of the construction of the new Fisiopharma plant in Palomonte in the province of Salerno. They are about ten young people, including pharmacists and production operators of the approximately 50 (+40% compared to the current workforce) who will be hired by the end of the year.

Fisiopharma, founded as a family business in 1989 and in 2018 acquired by the Chinese group Yfan Pharmaceutical, started construction of a new plant at the beginning of the year, which will roughly double the size of the existing one. A necessary response to the sharp rise in demand for injectable drugs. But the new plant will also start production of pre-filled syringes, which are a fast-growing product. This is a strategic investment amounting to 27 million and will strengthen Campania's role as a centre of excellence in the pharmaceutical sector.

"We have signed a development contract with Invitalia _ explains Nicola Cadei, director of Fisiopharma _ which grants us a total contribution of 8.8 million. The new facility will significantly expand the company's production capacity, with a potential of around 40 million bottles and 40 million pre-filled syringes per year. "The Palomonte project represents a fundamental step in Fisiopharma's growth path and in our desire to concretely invest in Italia and, in particular, in Campania _ states Cadei _ It is not just an industrial expansion, but an investment in skills, in people and in the future of an area that offers professional excellence and strong development potential. The new plant will allow us to increase our production capacity and, at the same time, contribute to the creation of skilled employment and the enhancement of the local industrial fabric'.

Campania ranks fourth among Italian regions in terms of the value of Italian pharmaceutical production and is the jewel in the crown of the sector in Southern Italy. On its side, it has a clear barycentricity and here the value of medicine exports increased fivefold from 2018 to 2023 (+475%) reaching EUR 6 billion. Fifteen large companies - with both foreign and Italia capital - are concentrated in Campania, as well as a chain of medium and small, highly innovative companies that invest in the area in both production and research.
