Using biomethane instead of gas in the industrial production process. This is the objective of Fitt, a Vicenza-based company active in the field of pipes and the realisation of thermoplastic material solutions for the passage of fluids, which has entered the capital of the Udine-based agricultural company San Daniele Bioenergia (a subsidiary of the Greenway Group) - which produces biogas, grapes, wine and milk - to convert the company's biogas plant in San Daniele del Friuli (Udine) into a biomethane plant.

Investimento

The project is supported by Pnrr funds and envisages conversion by the end of 2025, with an investment of approximately EUR 6 million. The biomethane produced in this way will be 70% used by Fitt and 30% fed into the grid and sold on the market..

Fitt, founded in Italy in 1969, with headquarters in Sandrigo (Vicenza), generated a turnover of EUR 327 million in 2024 and exports to 100 countries, has 1,150 employees and 15 production sites (9 in Italy, 5 in Europe and 1 in the USA), 16 logistics sites worldwide and 6 sales subsidiaries.

Approvvigionamento

Alessandro Mezzalira, CEO of Fitt, emphasised: 'As an energy-intensive company, we have been addressing the issue of energy supply for some time. It is not easy today to find credible answers in the energy market, which is why we created this innovative partnership, going to build an industrial supply chain that can meet our needs. We worked on it for two years, finding in Greenway the right partner and thinking about a structural investment, not ephemeral, acquiring a stake in the company'.

Pnrr

"Having won a Pnrr tender for the production of biomethane, we have found in Fitt and Alessandro Mezzalira the ideal partner for the realisation of the project, which sees the creation of a synergy between our agricultural supply chain, which is totally sustainable, and an internationally renowned industrial company, which is particularly attentive to the sustainability of its production. We believe that it is precisely the creation of synergies between the agricultural and industrial worlds that can be an important step forward in achieving the European and global goals of CO2 reduction and the general sustainability of industrial production,' added Marco Tam, president and CEO of Greenway.
