Five TV series not to miss in August Wednesday Addams returns

Browsing through the global streaming, satellite and digital terrestrial offer, here is a selection of titles not to be missed

Of relevance in July was the finale of the second season of 'The Sandman': some were disappointed, others liked it, but we are talking about Neil Gaiman and so there is no question. While incredibly "Untamed" the miniseries set in the wild scenery of Yosemite is among the most viewed titles in the history of Netflix. On the other hand, only positive reception for the detective series "Ballard", available on Prime Video, proving that July is a month in which judgement is lacking. Spoiler: August will be even worse. Happy viewing.

Wednesday - Season 2 - 6 August

Jenna Ortega returns to be Wednesday Addams. Everyone expects a new ballet, the one from the first season went viral and contributed to the success of the first season. Nothing mind-blowing eh but it all works. And then behind as director is Tim Burton. You can't see his hand much but it's there. (Netflix).

The Walking Dead: Dead City - Season 2 - 4 August

By now, between spin-offs and prequels, there is not much to understand about the most popular zombie series ever. We find Maggie and Negan, in Manhattan, together to save Hershel, Maggie's son. Now the story matters little to me. Only the protagonists. And the zombies who are increasingly in the background. (Sky and Now.tv)

Chief of War - Mini Series - 1 August

Series written, starring and produced by Jason Momoa. Set amidst the wars between Hawaiian kingdoms in the 18th century. The villains are the American colonists. As always. Expect lots of action, mauling and battles. And Apple+ is almost always a certainty anyway.

Alien Planet Earth - Season 1 - 13 August.

It is a prequel to the 1979 Alien,. To be precise, it is set in 2120, just two years before Ellen Ripley's encounter with the xenomorph aboard the Nostromo. The producer is Ridley Scott and promises big news. Only for fans of the baddest alien ever. (Disney+)

Dysfunctional families according to Raphael Bob-Waksberg, former author of the cult BoJack Horseman. Politically incorrect and cynical. If you love Ricky Gervais this is your summer cartoon. (Netflix)
