Five series not to miss in June: there's the finale of The Bear and House of The Dragon
Browsing through the global streaming, satellite and digital terrestrial offer, here is a selection of titles not to be missed
I can't find a better way to say it, but for me Due Spicci is like pizza, even when it's not good it's still good. And it's an event because every episode triggers memories, thoughts and things you want your children to see. Praise also goes to The Boroughs - Timeless Rebels by the Duffer Brothers (those of Stranger Things) who have invented a genre and are proving themselves postmodern in everything they do. They don't create from nothing, but take fragments of 80s cinema (horror, sci-fi, drama) and recompose them into something unique, coherent and fresh. Very curious to see the next productions. We now come to June. There is the third season of House of Dragon, which despite the criticism is something not to be missed. Finally, I really want to see how The Bear turns out. Happy viewing.
House of the Dragon - Season 3 - 22 June
Two years. That's all it took for HBO to recharge its batteries, oil the gears of the production machine and get its most valuable assets back in the air. House of the Dragon, the first true spin-off-billionaire born from the pen (and the suffering of fans) of George R.R. Martin, is back. Forget the preambles and political geometry of the first seasons: here, with the third season, we get right into the thick of the 'Dance of the Dragons'. There is no more middle ground, only the final confrontation. (Sky, Now and Hbo Max)
The Bear - Season 6 - 26 June
The Bear is coming to an end, and it is no ordinary TV series: it is perhaps the most faithful and merciless portrayal in recent years of what it means to do business today, amidst burnout, toxic passions and profit margins cut to the bone. Let's get our handkerchiefs and performance anxiety ready: the shoot is about to end. (Disney+)
The Agency - Season 2 - 21 June
If you are looking for old-fashioned espionage, all chases and gadgets, you have the wrong address. The Agency is something else: it is a sophisticated, geometric, algorithmic thriller. The second season ups the ante and widens the map. (Paramount+)
Cape Fear - Season 1 - 5 June
Let's face it: remaking a sacred monster of the psychological thriller makes anyone shake in their boots. But if Scorsese and Spielberg are producing, the rules of the game change. Nick Antosca's new series takes the Cape Fear story and updates it to our times, with a Javier Bardem who is scary just looking at him on the poster. Let's hope so. (Apple+)
