‘Five women accuse Trump of sexual abuse’, Democrats call for a special prosecutor to investigate Epstein
The Department of Justice is covering up ‘crimes to protect the president’, Democrats claim in a report
“Five women have directly accused Trump of rape or sexual assault whilst in the company of, or in the presence of, Epstein.” This was stated by Jamie Raskin, the Democratic leader of the House Judiciary Committee, as he presented the request for the appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate the links between Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. The Department of Justice is covering up “crimes to protect the president”, the Democrats claim in a 53-page report which, provocatively, just one week before the mid-term elections, calls on the Attorney General, Todd Blanche, to appoint an independent special prosecutor to investigate the links between Trump and the paedophile financier who died in prison in 2019.
“The efforts of the Department of Justice and the FBI to protect Trump rather than seek justice call, at the very least, for the appointment of an independent special prosecutor,” the report states. “This special prosecutor should be tasked with investigating not only the President but all of Epstein’s potential accomplices.”
‘The Department of Justice is covering it all up’
The Democrats acknowledge, however, that the Department of Justice, led by Blanche – the tycoon’s former personal lawyer – is highly unlikely to ‘take even this minimal step’. ‘Determined to protect the president at all costs, the Department of Justice is now spearheading the cover-up of Epstein’s sex trafficking operations,’ they conclude. ‘Blanche has gone from being Trump’s personal lawyer to being his personal attorney general.’
