For 20 female students AI summer camp
Applications start today for the fifth edition of the project, which takes place in Volterra from 19 to 25 July
Key points
In Italia, girls make up only 15.7% of ICT specialists. To help bridge this gap, the fifth edition of AIxGirls kicks off, the summer campus that, from 19 to 25 July 2026 in Volterra, will offer 20 female high-school students from all over Italia an immersive (and free) experience in the world of artificial intelligence.
The project
Conceived by Darya Majidi, ceo of Daxo Group, in collaboration with Roberta Russo, president of Donne 4.0 (an association set up to support female empowerment and overcome the gender gap through digital technologies), the project officially starts today at 4 p.m. with a presentation webinar on the LinkedIn channel of Donne 4.0. Space then runs until 15 June for applications.
Classroom lessons will be led by an exceptional faculty composed of lecturers and experts from the Donne 4.0 network. In addition to theory and meetings with researchers from the University of Siena, the students will take part in practical workshops and an exciting team hackathon.
For Majidi, "the goal of AIxGirls is to transform these high-potential young women from simple technology users into true innovation leaders, ready to tackle the most innovative contexts with awareness and ambition. There has already been an initial impact: more than 50% of past participants have in fact chosen to continue their studies in technology.
Next Steps
AIxgirls will soon expand its reach with AIxSchool, to bring AI into schools as a school-to-work training pathway and consolidate itself as an educational platform capable of generating value over time.
