For industrial valves record exports over 4 billion

The industrial and plant engineering valve sector continues to drive Italian mechanics on international markets. According to data from the Statistics Office of Anima Confindustria disclosed by Avr - the Italian Association of Valve and Tap Manufacturers, on the occasion of the Ivs - Industrial Valve Summit trade fair, in 2025 the Italian industrial and plant engineering valve industry will reach a total export value of 4.1 billion euro, an increase of 6.9% compared to 2024.
The Middle East is confirmed as the main hub for Italian companies in the sector, with Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Qatar accounting for over a fifth of foreign sales. Saudi Arabia tops the list of destination countries, with 611 million euros in exports (+13.3% over 2024), followed by the United States (477 million, +30.4%) and China (311 million, -1.7%). Growing the most are Norway (+54.8%) and the United Arab Emirates (+51.6%), driven by investments in energy and plant infrastructure.
What are the opportunities for companies in the sector in the coming months? While geopolitical tensions may be a brake, there are many opportunities for entrepreneurs in the sector. In fact, the sector is looking with growing interest at the new international development areas, particularly the Mercosur countries such as Argentina and Brazil, and Canada, which are among the most interesting markets and can potentially balance the current geopolitical scenario.
In addition to these markets, the Italian valve industry is strengthening its presence in the most advanced segments of the energy industry, from renewable energy applications to the production and management of nuclear energy, an area in which Italia can exploit its historical skills and high-level specialisations.
A theme, that of nuclear power, was the focus of the conference held in Bergamo. The event provided a unique opportunity to highlight Italian expertise in industrial and plant valves, from safety and control valves for complex plants to advanced solutions for next-generation nuclear infrastructure.
