For inventors, researchers and schools, calls open for Maker Faire Rome

From inventors and creative people of all ages via schools to start-ups and research centres: calls are now open to participate in Maker Faire Rome 2026, the event dedicated to innovation from below that will take place from 23 to 25 October at the Gazometro Ostiense in Rome. The deadline for applications is 15 June. "With the opening of the calls, we enter the heart of the fourteenth edition of Maker Faire Rome, an appointment that confirms itself as a strategic pillar for our territory and for the entire ecosystem of innovation," said Lorenzo Tagliavanti, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Rome, which has organised the event since its first edition.

The call for participation is open to everyone through three separate channels: the Call for Makers, aimed at makers, inventors, companies, start-ups and creative people from all over the world who will be given a free space to showcase their idea or project, the Call for Schools, specifically dedicated to secondary schools and in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Merit, and the Call for Universities and Research Institutes, where the world of research will be able to showcase their innovations through stands, workshops, performances or talks.

"Our goal," concluded Maurizio Pezzetta, president of Innova Camera, a special company of the Rome Chamber of Commerce, "is to facilitate the encounter between the world of research, schools, individual makers, and the productive fabric, transforming good ideas into opportunities for growth and economic development. We therefore invite all talents, both domestic and foreign, to seize this unique opportunity to show the general public and investors their capacity for vision and innovation'.
