For the Its Academy Lazio Digital more courses and enhanced workshops

"We started in 2022 with four courses. Now, thanks to Pnrr funds and ordinary funds from the Lazio region, we have started seven. In addition to the confirmation of the 'historical' courses in developer, cloud developer, cyber security expert and game developer,' says Euclide Della Vista, president of the Its Academy Lazio Digital in Rome, headquartered in the Pigneto district, 'we have added courses to become specialists in digital media, artificial intelligence and data science, and telco network, which we are starting in Pomezia, a town with a large number of IT companies in the area.

With the additional funds, the laboratories have also been strengthened: "Here, our girls and boys," added Della Vista, "will be able to train through laboratory learning activities, experimenting with simulation systems to prevent cybersecurity attacks, and develop applications using artificial intelligence, by means of an important HPC (high performance computing, ed.) based. Thanks to its considerable computational power and data storage capacity, in fact, this system is able to perform intensive processing operations, guaranteeing a computational capacity capable of handling machine learning models, deep learning and large-scale scientific simulations. The computational heart of the datacenter is NVIDIA GPUs. Also of note are the innovative tools for the development of Vr and Ar applications and motion tracking systems for the development of increasingly realistic video games. "In short, it will be really exciting to 'learn by doing' in our Its Academy".

The new courses will last a total of 1,800 hours, of which 1,080 will be spent at the Pigneto site and the remaining 720 in internships at partner companies, which have increased rapidly. In fact, alongside the first companies that accompanied the birth of the Its Academy Lazio Digital, such as DGS, Exprivia, Links, Aubay, Alten, Softrategy, LaserRomae, Rainbow, Onetone, and Red hog, other prestigious companies have now joined the ranks, such as Leonardo, the State Mint, Olidata, and Iconsulting, with which important work is being done in the area of cybersecurity and Ia. About two hundred selected students are already at work, out of a pool of about one thousand candidates, and in October next year they will be on track in companies to complete their 'on the job' training. Over 70 per cent of the teaching staff comes from the world of work; the placement rate is over 90 per cent.

One element of loyalty are the many initiatives that the students take part in during their studies. "For example, we involve our students in various national contests and events, fostering a spirit of collaboration to achieve our goals,' Della Vista emphasised. 'As evidence of the validity of this strategy, I can cite the results achieved by the students of the first two-year course, who did well in the Its 4.0 contest (a competition between Italian Its promoted by MIM) by creating a video game on computer security, or the victory of another team in the 'Let's cyber game' contest, organised by the Ministry of Enterprise, which was awarded 15,000 euros. But let me also mention the Aperitech, talks on digital innovation, organised on the terrace of our headquarters in Pigneto. Thanks to the collaboration with digital popularizer Massimo Cerofolini, we have hosted, between music and aperitifs, protagonists of Italian culture, research and digital enterprise, from Massimo Chiriatti, CEO of Lenovo, to Ernesto Ciorra, from Barbara Carfagna to Cosimo Accoto, from Daniele Azara to Fortuna Imperatore, to name but a few. It is an engaging formula for our students who can find themselves 'face to face' with great experts in innovation'.

The next challenges are ambitious: the primary objective," continued Della Vista, "is to consolidate the Its Academy Lazio Digital's role as a hinge between the world of young people and companies, expanding the number of courses and opening branches in other provinces of Lazio. We are already looking at space opportunities for the next location in Latina, but we would also like to strengthen our presence in Rome'.
