Ford towards relaunch, 5 new models designed and built in Europe
Coming soon: a new Bronco family hybrid SUV and electric compacts based on Renault
Ford is strengthening its presence in Europe. After a difficult period linked to low registrations of its electric range and the farewell of volume models such as the Fiesta and Focus, the American manufacturer has announced a relaunch plan for the Old Continent. Christened 'Ready, Set, Ford', the strategy includes growth in the commercial vehicle department but above all five new multi-energy vehicles including a new model in the Bronco hybrid family produced in the Valencia plant. Plant that will see the arrival of Geely, with possible future collaborations.
Ford Bronco suv, new hybrid model on the way
By the end of 2029, Ford will launch five new cars designed and produced in Europe, starting with a new multi-energy compact suv from the Bronco family, confirmed for production at Ford's Valencia plant in Spain starting in 2028. The list of debuts will include a new compact electric produced in collaboration with Renault, a compact lithium-ion suv and two multi-energy crossovers including a model with range extender power. No confirmation on the return of the Fiesta and Focus, despite Ford's top management stating that the Fiesta and Focus names will not die.
Ford Pro, the moves on commercial vehicles
While the car business is suffering, commercial vehicles continue to lead in Europe for 11 consecutive years. The strategy supports Ford's global goal of generating 25 per cent of Ford Pro's Ebit from software and services. In Q1 2026, worldwide paid software subscriptions grew by 30% to 879,000, with gross margins exceeding 50%. "Ford Pro is the backbone of our European business," said Jim Baumbick, President, Ford in Europe. "We don't just sell vans and pick-ups: we offer an integrated ecosystem of vehicles, software and services. Our vehicles drive the market and around them we have built a productivity accelerator that our competitors cannot match. For our customers, it's not just transportation: it's a better return on investment." Ford Pro Uptime Services uses connected vehicle data and predictive intelligence to identify critical issues before they become problems. As of 2019, every Ford Pro vehicle is manufactured with an integrated modem. Today, more than 1.2 million European customers are connected and generate nearly six million status signals per day. Last year alone, Ford Connected Services provided customers with almost one million additional uptime days. Ford Pro now extends these capabilities, for the first time, to small businesses. Through the new Dealer Uptime Services, any Ford dealer can monitor the vehicle's status, contact the customer and prepare parts and workshop before the vehicle even arrives. The first pilot projects show a reduction in repair times of up to 50 per cent, with 80 per cent of interventions identified proactively.
