Former Ilva: Meloni says ensuring continuity in steel production is a priority; we are monitoring the tender process

To safeguard employment and ensure respect for the environment and public health

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - “Our aim, clearly, is to ensure the continuity of steel production in Italia, not to give in to bans, whilst at the same time safeguarding the jobs of those who have worked at Ilva to date, within a framework of full respect for the environment and public health. We are, of course, closely monitoring the progress of the ongoing tender process so as not to jeopardise the situation of the workers and the plants.” So said Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in her reply to the Senate ahead of the European Council meeting on 15 and 16 October.
