Four very young people were making Molotov cocktails; searches and seizures followed

Searches and seizures have been carried out against four very young people who were making Molotov cocktails. The order, issued by the Pesaro Public Prosecutor’s Office, was executed by the Carabinieri from the investigative unit of the Provincial Command of Pesaro and Urbino, with the assistance of the relevant local units. The investigations, coordinated by the Pesaro Public Prosecutor’s Office, led to the four very young people – two of whom are resident in the provinces of Rimini and Bologna – following ‘constant monitoring of the local area, as well as related websites and social media profiles’.

It thus emerged that, around February 2026, the four had ‘manufactured several incendiary bottles of the “Molotov”, the destructive potential of which was subsequently tested in Pesaro inside an abandoned industrial warehouse, causing multiple instances of fire and explosion”.

The Carabinieri also seized tablets, computers and smartphones used by the suspects, which will be analysed. Paper documents were also found containing, amongst other things, instructions on how to make and use incendiary devices.

“From the investigations carried out so far,” the Carabinieri note, “it has emerged that the suspects – who are, in any case, presumed innocent – are believed to have links to local groups comprising students and individuals associated with opposition circles.”

The statement concludes by saying that ‘further investigations are under way to determine whether the conduct described can be attributed to a mere preparatory act aimed at gaining greater credibility within the opposing camp, or whether it was indicative of preparations for demonstrative actions as part of a broader strategy’.
