Rome
From 1 to 23 November at the Auditorium Parco della Musica the 48th Roma Jazz Festival. The opening is entrusted to American saxophonist Lakecia Benjamin, with that explosive fusion of jazz, R'N'B and funk that resonates in her latest album, Phoenix. And then the big names, such as Pat Metheny on the 4th, Bill Evans on the 11th, and numerous others. But the Festival also turns its gaze towards geographies 'other' than the established jazz ones. Thus within the programme we will hear musicians from Azerbaijan, Syria, the Czech Republic and Norway. There is also a strong female protagonism. In addition to Lakecia Benjamin, Nikól Boková and Elisabetta Antonini, this edition is marked by the presence of female jazz musicians such as the singer Camilla Battaglia, who will present her album Elektra on 23 November; or the Greek pianist and composer Tania Giannouli, at the festival in Trio on 21 November.
