Alessandro Di Battista: ‘I’m feeling much better; I’m finally home’

Alessandro Di Battista has been discharged from the Gemelli Polyclinic. Di Battista himself announced this on Instagram, posting a photo with his friend and president of the Schierarsi association, Luca Di Giuseppe. “I’m feeling much better and I’m finally home! Thank you to the doctors and staff at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome, and thank you to all of you for the support I’ve felt every day. Over the coming weeks, I’ll be telling you about the journey I’ll have to go through,” he wrote on Instagram.

On 12 September Di Battista had arrived at the Policlinico Gemelli in Rome after returning to Italy from Cuba with a air ambulance. A week earlier, Di Battista had undergone emergency surgery in Havana after being admitted to hospital following severe headaches. The well-known activist was in Cuba to produce a report for Il Fatto Quotidiano. Di Giuseppe had flown to Cuba to be by his side.
