From children to the environment: corporate volunteering for 200 Intrum employees
Initiatives in the main Italian cities where the Swedish company, in which Intesa Sanpaolo holds a stake, has its headquarters
Volunteering with children – but not only that – is at the heart of the second edition of the ‘IN-DAY’ corporate volunteering project promoted by Intrum Italy. This corporate volunteering project aims to enable employees to give their time to support local organisations and strengthen team spirit, which is the aim of the project promoted by the company – a key player in the credit sector – which involved over 200 employees across Italia, all of whom volunteered, and 22 organisations over the course of a week of activities.
Employees from Intrum Italy’s offices in Milan, Bergamo, Turin, Genoa, Bologna, Padua, Florence, Forlì, Pesaro, Pescara, Rome, Naples, Salerno, Bari, Cosenza, Matera, Potenza, Palermo and Cagliari were involved in the activities. Among the organisations involved were both local and national third sector bodies, such as the Red Cross, Avis, Banco Alimentare and Legambiente. The activities carried out were varied: from assisting homeless people and migrants to supporting people with disabilities, as well as beach clean-ups and helping to set up summer camps or organise food and medicine warehouses.
In Turin, in particular, a group of employees from the local office supported the day-to-day activities of the Paideia Foundation, an organisation that provides daily support to children with disabilities and their families. “Following last year’s great success, we decided to repeat the project because we believe that a company is, first and foremost, a social actor operating within the local community with an approach that puts people at the centre,” emphasised Enrico Risso, managing director of Intrum Italy. “Seeing our staff so enthusiastic and engaged in carrying out corporate volunteering is a source of particular satisfaction. For us, sustainability also means this,” concluded the CEO.
The company is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, and is listed on Nasdaq Stockholm. In 2025, its revenue stood at 1.6 billion euros. Intrum Italy, whose shareholders are Intrum Group (51 per cent) and Intesa Sanpaolo (49 per cent), has nearly 900 employees and 23 offices in 22 cities.
