From construction to food, who is Orsini, the entrepreneur at the head of Confindustria

He took his first steps as an entrepreneur in the family business, Sistem Costruzioni, today a leader in the wood construction and industrial logistics sector. Emanuele Orsini, born in Sassuolo on 29 August 1973, joined Sistem Costruzioni in 1992: his desire for independence and affirmation pushed him to work early, doing his apprenticeship, in order to better understand all the company dynamics and every aspect of production: he performed all possible tasks, from warehouse worker to purchasing office clerk. Elaborating that team spirit and collaboration that is his entrepreneurial characteristic and that has marked his long association commitment.

In 2014, he became managing director: his father, Carlo, is a decisive figure for Orsini. Different visions of the company's future led him to resign, only to be recalled by his father, who entrusted him with the company. With him at the helm, Sistem Costruzioni became a leader in the wood sector, producing made-to-measure solutions and committed to communities, such as the reconstruction in the earthquake-stricken areas of Abruzzo, Emilia Romagna and Marche. The company also played an important role in the construction of infrastructure for Expo 2015. Today, the group, which has a turnover of more than EUR 110 million, consists of 15 other companies, with offices in Central America, and partners Ferrari Auto, Lamborghini, and Maserati. Among the main subsidiaries is the Maranello Village, the world's first residential complex dedicated to the prancing horse. From 2020, after the death of his father-in-law, Lanfranco Fiandri, he will become CEO of Tino Prosciutti: also in this case he aims at growth. In 2025, a fifth plant will come into operation, which will increase the share of exports outside the EU (of the 110 million turnover, 72 million belong to Tino Prosciutti, 40 million to Sistem Costruzioni, 17 million to Maranello Village).

His personal experience leads him to be deeply convinced that you start small and grow big. An awareness that has also characterised his long association experience. President of Assolegno since 2013, he was elected president of FederlegnoArredo in 2017. Listening, dialogue, territory, these are the keywords and values that he also put into practice in his national vice-presidency for Credit, Finance and Tax, held during the four years of Bonomi's presidency. A commitment that Orsini carried out across the board, in the difficult phase of the pandemic, focusing on the need to provide companies with liquidity in that difficult economic circumstance: companies were able to take advantage of EUR 300 billion in financing, with EUR 2.8 million in transactions and EUR 140 billion in moratoria. Without forgetting a long-term vision of industrial policy, which in any case needs resources to make investments.
