New funding for Bonomi from Ghana

The Bonomi Group will be taking on thirteen young specialist mechanical operators from Ghana as part of the Ghana Project, the international mobility initiative promoted by Umana and implemented in the Brescia area in collaboration with Confindustria Brescia.

This initiative forms part of the Bonomi Group’s wider commitment to promoting inclusion and employment integration programmes aimed at young people from international backgrounds, with a particular focus on African countries.

The project addresses a situation in which local manufacturing firms are facing increasing difficulty in recruiting skilled staff, partly due to the high employment rate and demographic trends that are gradually reducing the availability of a qualified workforce. Against this backdrop, the Ghana Project, launched in Ghana in 2024 by Umana and Confindustria Alto Adriatico, represents a concrete, long-term solution capable of reconciling the development needs of businesses with structured training and integration programmes.

The programme was launched in Ghana, where participants undertook a training course to become mechanical operators. The programme combined technical and vocational training, Italian language learning, civic education, health and safety at work, and specialist vocabulary for the metalworking sector, culminating in the award of an A1-level language certificate.

In Italia, participants will continue the programme with a further training phase in the Brescia area, in collaboration with the Giovanni Piamarta Training Association at the Centro Artigianelli in Brescia, before joining the Group companies involved in the initiative. The aim is to consolidate the skills acquired and enable each participant to feel part of the corporate community and the local area right from the start, building relationships based on trust and a shared path of growth.
