Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni will be among the speakers at the 19th edition of the Trento Festival of Economics, to be held from 23 to 26 May 2024 in the winning formula that sees for the third year running the 24 ORE Group together with Trentino Marketing in the role of organisers on behalf of the Autonomous Province of Trento and with the contribution of the Municipality of Trento and the University of Trento.
"Io, Giorgia e i dilemmi dell'Europa" is the topic on which the Prime Minister will dialogue with Sky TG24 and Radio 24 journalist Maria Latella at 2.30 p.m. on Friday 24 May at the Teatro Sociale in Trento.
Also present will be Democratic Party Secretary Elly Schlein on Friday 24 May at 5.15 p.m., at the Teatro Sociale in Trento, interviewed by Ferruccio de Bortoli on the theme "My answers to the dilemmas of our time". Confirmed the presence in Trento of 22 Ministers and the European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs European Commission Paolo Gentiloni, who will speak on the theme "Next generation Eu: what prospects after 2026" at 6.15 p.m. at Palazzo della Provincia - Sala Depero. Among the participants at the Trento Festival, Romano Prodi, president of the Foundation for World Cooperation, will speak on Friday 24 May at the Teatro Sociale at 9.30 a.m. on the panel "Quo vadis Europa" and on Saturday 25 May at 9.45 a.m. on the topic "The World in Reverse"; Giulio Tremonti, president of the Foreign and Community Affairs Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, will speak on Saturday 25 May at 2.00 p.m.00 Palazzo della Provincia - Sala Depero in the panel "2024, rebus United States" and on Sunday 26 May at 12.00 noon at the Teatro Sociale on the theme "Time is out of time", while Senator for Life Mario Monti will speak on Saturday 25 May at 12.30 p.m..5 Nobel Prize winners will attend the 2024 edition of the Trento Festival of Economics entitled "QUO VADIS? The dilemmas of our time": Edmund Phelps, 2006 Nobel Prize winner in economics for his analysis of the intertemporal relations of macroeconomic policy, considered the progenitor of the Neo-Keynesians, will return to Trento on Thursday 23 May at the Teatro Sociale at 2.30 pm to recount his journey through the ideas and economic theories of the last 60 years.
James Heckman, winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics 2000 for his contributions to the "development of theory and methods for the analysis of selective samples", will speak for the first time from the stage of the Trento Festival on Saturday 25 May on the subject of "How the welfare state helps overcome inequality" at the Teatro Sociale at 9.30 a.m. Another illustrious new guest will be Michael Spence, Professor Emeritus of Management and Former Dean in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University and winner of the 2001 Nobel Prize in Economics, who will address the topic "Living with Global Permacrisis" on Sunday 26 May at 2.45 p.m. at the Teatro Sociale.
The squirrel people will also meet the two Nobel Peace Prize winners: Muhammad Yunus, who was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for his commitment to creating economic and social development from below, will speak on 'Man at the crossroads between self-destruction and a future of achievement' on Sunday 26 May at 9 a.m:30, while Tawakkol Karman, Nobel Peace Prize laureate in 2011 for her non-violent struggle for democracy and her defence of women's rights in Yemen and founder of the Tawakkol Karman International Foundation, will speak in a dialogue with Father Enzo Fortunato, spokesperson for St Peter's Papal Basilica, entitled "Children are born to be happy" scheduled for Thursday 23 May at 2pm.
