There is no shortage of 'peripheral' measures in the budget law approved by the Chamber of Deputies. For example, in order to support the protection and enhancement of historical carnivals with a recognised cultural identity, a fund with an endowment of EUR 1.5 million per year as of 2025 is set up in the budget of the Ministry of Culture.

1.5 million for festivals and bands

In addition, 1.5 million per year from 2025 is allocated to support the sector of festivals, choirs and music bands. While in order to 'ensure the relaunch and strengthening of the lyric-symphonic sector and guarantee, at the same time, stability to the same sector, also due to the renewal of the national collective labour contract of the personnel employed therein, as from 2025 a share of the national fund for live entertainment, referred to in Law no. 163, identified for the lyrical-symphonic foundations, in the amount of €8 million, is allocated: €750,000 in favour of the Fondazione Petruzzelli e Teatri di Bari, in order to strengthen its institutional operations; €7,250,000 in favour of the fourteen lyrical-symphonic foundations, in consideration of the average of the percentages identified for the three-year period 2022-2024.

At Crea 9 million over three years for genomic editing

From the manoeuvre, there will also be a total contribution of 9 million euro to continue research activities aimed at experiments using genome editing techniques. Receiving 3 million for each of the years 2025, 2026 and 2027, is Crea (Council for Research in Agriculture and Analysis of the Agricultural Economy) as stated in Article 82 of the chapter 'Measures on research in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry'. These are activities 'by means of site-directed mutagenesis or cisgenesis for experimental and scientific purposes'. The same article also authorises the expenditure of EUR 3 million for each of the years 2025, 2026, and 2027 for the continuation of the Leo Livestock Environment Opendata Project, the first initiative in Europe that aims to enclose in a single digital database all the information on the livestock sector, a key production sector for the Italian economy.

100 million per year to municipalities for children

Then, 100 million per year, from 2025 to 2027, will be allocated to contribute to the costs incurred by municipalities for the care of minors who have been removed from the family home by a court order.
