From Imu to traffic fines: five-year tax amnesty also for municipalities' tax bills
Adhesion declarations can be submitted between 16 September and 31 October. By the end of the year, Ader will notify debtors of the amounts due
The go-ahead for the five-year amnesty is also given to the loads of territorial authorities entrusted to the Agenzia delle Entrate Riscossione (Ader). This is what an amendment approved to the tax decree in the Senate Finance Committee provides for.
Tax debts from 2000 to 2023
The amendment allows the amnesty for municipalities on tax debts, such as those for Imu and Tari, from the period between January 2000 and December 2023. It also provides for the possibility of amnesty for unpaid road fines, but only limited to the interest and surcharges due.
Rate with interest at 3%
Payment of the sums due may be made in one lump sum by 31 January 2027 or in 54 bi-monthly instalments (i.e. over 9 years).
In the latter case, interest at the fixed rate of 3% applies.
Timing
The municipality must publish the accession resolution by 30 June 2026.
