The Fondazione CR Firenze has awarded 679 vouchers worth one thousand euros each to children at state-recognised primary schools

The CR Firenze Foundation is making 679 vouchers worth one thousand euros each available to children enrolled in state-recognised private schools within the Metropolitan City of Florence. This initiative is designed to help families with an ISEE of less than 35,000 euros, including families with children who have a certified disability (in accordance with Law 104/1992).

There are 24 schools and school complexes in the area that have applied for this scheme through the Fondazione CR Firenze’s call for applications for state-recognised private schools, representing 70 per cent of the total network of state-recognised primary schools, which involves 2,517 pupils. Given an average annual school fee of around 2,800 euros, families are thus able to cover 36 per cent of the cost of schooling, with this figure rising to 45–50 per cent in schools with lower fees.

“This is a unique initiative at both national and regional level,” emphasised Bernabò Bocca, president of the Fondazione CR Firenze, “which helps many families for whom school fees are a real obstacle when choosing a school. The Foundation’s call for applications had allocated 500,000 euros, but the number of applications significantly exceeded our expectations. For this reason, the Board of Directors has decided to allocate a further 179,000 euros to meet all of them.”

The vouchers issued will cover the school fees of 17 per cent of pupils enrolled at state-recognised primary schools in the Metropolitan City of Florence. The full list of schools is available on the fondazionecrfirenze.it website.
