Del Vecchio: new leadership at LMDV Hospitality; Leonardo Maria appoints Jordan Rocca
CEO Carlo Ziller is stepping down after a year
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Another change of leadership at the helm of LMDV Hospitality, the holding company overseeing the operations of Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio in the hospitality and catering sectors, including Twiga, Casa Fiori Chiari, Trattoria del Ciumbia and Vesta. Following his appointment as CEO last summer, Carlo Ziller resigned in recent weeks, replaced by Jordan Rocca, described by the group’s shareholders’ meeting as “a professional with significant experience in the hospitality sector and, in particular, in the development and management of commercial ventures focused on entertainment and clubbing”. Rocca, who will earn €150,000 gross per year, made his fortune in London, where he launched the Toyroom brand, later sold to the Pacha group, with whom he remains in business and is a partner.
The reshuffle began at the end of April when the LMDV Hospitality shareholders’ meeting expanded the board, co-opting Rocca, “in order to ensure more efficient operational management of the company, a more balanced distribution of responsibilities amongst the board members, and a strengthening of the strategic contribution and operational support provided by the majority shareholder”. Subsequently, the board of directors, chaired by Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, whilst approving the new two-year business plan, delegated the main powers and appointed Rocca as CEO, whilst Ziller remained vice-chairman with only representative powers. A few weeks later, Ziller himself resigned.
