The Department of Commerce has begun issuing Nvidia the necessary licences to export its H20 chips to China. The Financial Times reports this, noting that the issuance follows CEOJensen Huang's meeting with Donald Trump.
Last month, the US lifted its April ban on the sale of the H20 chip to China. The company had adapted the microprocessor specifically for the Chinese market to comply with Biden-era export controls on artificial intelligence chips.
In July, Nvidia said it had applied to the US government to resume sales of the H20 graphics processing unit in China and received assurances that it would soon obtain licences.
It is unclear how many licences have been issued, which Nvidia companies are allowed to ship H20s and the value of the allowed shipments.
