Fs, 24-hour strike from 9pm on Thursday 2 October: list of guaranteed trains
A national general strike called by an autonomous trade union
More inconvenience in sight for travellers, this time by rail, on 2 and 3 October. A 24-hour national general strike of all public and private categories has been proclaimed by Si Cobas, which will also affect rail transport from 9.00 p.m. on Thursday 2 October to 8.59 p.m. on Friday 3 October, and will involve the staff of the FS Group, Trenitalia, Trenitalia Tper and Trenord.
Trains, Trenitalia warns, may therefore be subject to cancellations or variations. It should be borne in mind that the trade union agitation may lead to service changes even before it begins and after it ends. For regional transport, the essential services foreseen in the event of a strike are guaranteed on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The complete list of guaranteed services, subdivided by region, is available on the Trenord websites (www.trenord.it) and for Trenitalia Tper (www.trenitaliatper.it). Trains travelling when the strike has begun will still arrive at their final destination if it can be reached within one hour of the start of the strike; after this period, trains may stop at stations prior to the final destination.
Guaranteed trains are also available on the official Trenitalia timetable, available on the dedicated page of the website. Information on connections and services is also available through the Trenitalia app, the Infomobility section, the trenord.it website or through the Trenord App, trenitaliatper.it website, the toll free number 800 89 20 21, as well as at ticket offices and customer care staff.
n 3 October, in adherence to the general strike, a 24-hour strike has been called for the personnel of the companies to which the National Collective Labour Contract for Train, Bus and Tram Operators applies, so that even scheduled bus services may be subject to changes or cancellations, even before the start and after the end of the mobilisation. For services on Trenitalia timetables, the essential services envisaged in the event of a strike are guaranteed on weekdays from 6.00 to 9.00 and from 18.00 to 21.00. No guarantee bands are envisaged for FrecciaLink services.
Capone (Ugl): strike 2 and 3 October illegitimate and instrumental
"The general strike proclaimed by S.I. Cobas for 2 and 3 October is legally illegitimate, as it does not respect the notice periods and instrumentalises an international drama. The Constitution protects the right to strike, but this can only be exercised to defend general public interests or to fulfil constitutional obligations. The reasons given by the Cobas, on the other hand, reveal aims closer to propaganda than to the real protection of Italian workers and citizens'.
