G7: Leaders pledge to diversify shipping routes and reduce dependence on the Strait of Hormuz

Commitment to increasing reserves; more capacity from Canada

"We are committed to accelerating the diversification of energy supply routes in order to reduce global vulnerability to the Strait of Hormuz and to increase our energy reserves. We welcome the prospect that Canada may be able to supply significant additional capacity to global markets in the coming years." This is stated by the G7 heads of state and government and their partners in the declaration on geopolitical issues.
