Green light for the laying of the foundation stone, by Garbe Industrial Real Estate Italy, for the new logistics hub in Tortona. The project, of which Garbe is the sponsor and developer, will rise on an area of 265 thousand square metres already equipped with all the necessary permits, destined for the construction of a logistics complex of 102 thousand square metres in a single logistic plate, organised in three autonomous compartments with the aim of guaranteeing maximum flexibility of the property in a mono-tenant or multi-tenant perspective.

The building - which will be one of the largest along the Genoa-Milan axis - is located in a strategic position, a few kilometres from the Genoa interport and with direct access to the A7 motorway, allowing fast connections to the main markets in northern Italy and facilitating integration with Genoa's port and railway system, meeting the growing needs of the modern supply chain.

The general contractor Gse, part of the Goldbeck Group and European leader in construction for the logistics and industrial sectors, has already taken possession of the area and started site operations as of November 2024. For the construction management and the technical and administrative support of the order, Garbe relies on Sfre Service for Real Estate, which specialises in the technical supervision and coordination of construction activities, while Cbre takes care of the project management, guaranteeing efficiency and adherence to the timeline in all operational and project phases.

The project, with a development plan started at the end of 2024 and scheduled for completion in May 2026, aims to obtain Leed Platinum certification, the highest recognition in terms of sustainability, as is standard practice for all Garbe logistics developments in Italy. The building will be highly technological and high-performance, without renouncing attention to the environment and sustainability through the use of recycled materials, the direct production of green energy thanks to the photovoltaic system on the roof, and the choice of design and construction solutions aimed at guaranteeing energy efficiency and reducing the carbon footprint.

"This marks the start of the completion of another important economic development area for our city, which further consolidates Tortona's role as a reference point for logistics activities in northern Italy. Our thanks go to those who continue to believe and invest in our city, bringing growth and, above all, new jobs to our territory," said Federico Chiodi, Mayor of Tortona.

"We are proud to start this first collaboration for Garbe in Italy," concluded Valentino Chiarparin, Country Manager of Gse Italia. "We will work to ensure that Garbe meets the highest standards in terms of safety, construction quality and environmental sustainability.
