Alberto Stasi was granted semi-freedom. This was decided by the Milan Supervisory Court. The 41-year-old, definitively sentenced in 2015 to 16 years for the murder of Chiara Poggi in 2007 in Garlasco, will be able to stay out of prison part of the day, not only to work but also for social reintegration activities, and will have to return to Bollate in the evening.

"We are happy and satisfied with the decision of the freedom court, but at the same time we regret the news that has been circulating since Wednesday about the interview given by my client on TV, especially because no authorisation was needed. This is the comment of Giada Bocellari, legal counsel - together with Antonio De Rensis - of Alberto Stasi. "Moreover, according to the court, in the same interview Stasi shows empathy towards Chiara Poggi and this convinced the court to disregard it," she added.
