Gaza, Israeli air strike: one dead and several injured
Yesterday, the Israeli army killed a Hamas leader who was hiding near a hospital
One person has been killed and several others injured in an Israeli attack in the central Gaza Strip, according to Al Jazeera. The attack took the form of an air raid by Israel on Deir el-Balah, in the central Gaza Strip. A group of civilians were also injured and taken to al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Hospital.
The Israeli army had previously reported that it had killed Hamas militia commanders in yesterday’s attack in the Jabalia area of the Gaza Strip. One of them – according to Al Jazeera – had taken part in the attack on 7 October 2023. A Hamas commander who was planning attacks was killed in an Israeli strike in the central part of the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army said.
The IDF (Israeli Defence Forces) reported that the commander was targeted in an attack in the Deir al-Balah area whilst ‘taking cover in the immediate vicinity of the Shuhada al-Aqsa Hospital’. The army stated that it had taken measures to minimise harm to civilians in the area.
“This is yet another example of Hamas’s cynical exploitation of humanitarian infrastructure and the terrorist organisation’s systematic infiltration of medical facilities to plan and carry out terrorist activities,” the army said.
