Q2 GDP +0.3% in EU and Eurozone

In the second quarter of 2024, seasonally adjusted GDP increased by 0.3% in both the euro area and the EU, compared to the previous quarter, according to a flash estimate published by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union. In the first quarter of 2024, GDP had also grown by 0.3% in both areas. Compared to the same quarter a year earlier, GDP increased by 0.6% in the euro area and 0.8% in the EU, after +0.5% in the euro area and +0.6% in the EU in the previous quarter. The reading was in line with expectations.
