Generali: organisational restructuring gets under way, with more powers granted to CEO Terzariol; Sesana steps down
(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - Generali’s board of directors, which met today at the proposal of Group CEO Philippe Donnet, approved “the evolution of the group’s organisational structure, in support of the final phase of the strategic plan and in anticipation of the next strategic cycle for 2028–2030”.
This development – as a statement emphasises – “aims to streamline and improve the coordination and integration between Head Office functions and the markets, in order to further strengthen the business’s excellent results by drawing on internal expertise and talent”.
In particular, with effect from 2 November, the new organisational structure provides for the strengthening of the management remit of the General Manager – Group Deputy CEO, Giulio Terzariol, through the reallocation of the functions currently under the responsibility of the General Manager, Marco Sesana, whose role will cease. Sesana – as reported by *Il Sole 24 Ore* in recent days – will leave the group at the end of the year.
Specifically, the functions to be added to Terzariol’s remit are Global Investment Management, led by Luca Cetrano; Group Operations, led by David Cis; Group Marketing & Customer, led by Isabelle Conner; and Group Security, led by Remo Marini.
