Generali receives the Cnel stamp for worker participation

The dissemination of participation also passes through the valorisation of good practices. It is also with this spirit that the institutional recognition 'Bollino Cnel' was created to identify and enhance them. The first three experiences to receive it are Generali, Asm Rieti and Ambiente società cooperativa, which are profoundly different in size, sector and legal nature. This shows how transversal the participatory model can be. "With the awarding of the first stamps, we are putting into operation a concrete tool to recognise and valorise companies that have chosen participation as their governance model," says CNEL president Renato Brunetta. 'We are convinced that rewarding these good practices will contribute to strengthening the quality of industrial relations in our country'. For Emmanuele Massagli, President of the National Commission, the three awards to such different realities are 'proof that participation has no size thresholds or product constraints: any working context becomes more serene and competitive when the sterile logic of conflict is overcome and collaborative practices between entrepreneurs and workers are experimented with, as already intuited by the constituent fathers who wanted Article 46 of the Charter'.

According to the explanations in the motivations, the Cnel awarded the recognition to Generali for the structured organisational participation of its employees. In this regard, for Gianluca Perin, Country General Manager of Generali Italia, the Cnel seal of approval is "confirmation of Generali's decision to interpret in a responsible and timely manner the principles introduced by the new legislation on employee participation, translating them into concrete actions through our Corporate Integrative Contract. In line with the direction indicated by the institutions, we have strengthened instruments of structured and participatory dialogue, capable of accompanying the major transformations in work'. One example is the transformation hubs dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, sustainability and active ageing, which represent a concrete example of this approach. These are 'places for discussion and co-planning that enable us to govern innovation, enhance skills, and promote inclusive and sustainable development, while strengthening the competitiveness of the Italia system,' Perin continues. 'With our social responsibility as Italy's leading insurer, we want to continue to strengthen our role as a point of reference for being the country's partner.

The other two recognitions went to ASM Rieti S.p.A., a publicly-owned company active in the management of the water cycle, which was awarded for its management participation practices, and to Forlì Ambiente Società Cooperativa, a company operating in environmental services that has effectively implemented economic-financial and organisational participation models. In the meantime, the Commission's work of mapping and analysis continues: to date there are more than 30 cases of corporate participation surveyed at national level. Next 23 April, the Commission will meet again to examine a further eleven experiences.
