GenerAtion talent kicks off with a pilot project for one thousand over 55s
President of the Elis Consortium, Silvia Rovere (Poste) at the ceo meeting announced the launch of the initiative to enhance the experience and skills of seniors and address the challenges of multigenerational organisations
"Demographic trends are of extreme topicality and urgency for organisations throughout the western world. The data tell us that we are moving from a young and expanding society to one with increasing seniority. This is a strategically important issue on which we have built the GenerAzione Talento project that we have placed at the heart of the Elis semester," says Silvia Maria Rovere, the President of Poste Italiane, who holds the rotating presidency of the Consortium of which more than 130 large companies are members.
At the autumn ceo meeting yesterday, Rovere called together more than 300 top managers of major Italian companies, from Tim's CEO Pietro Labriola to Fincantieri's CEO Pierroberto Folgiero and Leonardo's CEO Roberto Cingolani, to talk about the project that has officially begun and that envisages the involvement of a very significant sample of over-55s, about a thousand of them, to fully understand their needs, aspirations and potential in companies increasingly populated by generations as diverse as they have ever been and where it is necessary to have a dialogue and think about tools from a multigenerational perspective.
Qualche numero aiuta a capire.
The GenerAzione Talento project is developed along four lines of action: listening, sharing, experimenting and building. In parallel with listening, the sharing phase will allow companies to share their experiences, previously gained within their own organisations, in order to extract promising models of intervention and to compare them with experiments carried out in other contexts and countries that will have access to the programme, "which is not theoretical, but is characterised by the planning applied to a sample to evaluate interventions aimed at the financial and welfare education of individuals, as well as the sustainability of work, through a welfare system tailored to the needs of workers, including generational needs, and their enhancement by identifying the prospects that they can have with upskilling and reskilling plans, mentorship, reverse mentoring, and coaching," says Rovere.
On the basis of the results that will emerge from the first two phases, which are expected to be completed by April 2026, the project will enter the experimentation phase, with the aim of translating the elements of analysis into concrete actions. Companies will be called upon to develop and test new initiatives dedicated to senior personnel, aimed at enhancing their skills, fostering active participation and promoting forms of intergenerational collaboration. At the same time, the project will enter the construction phase, during which the experiences gained and the most effective models will be shared with institutions, stimulating a multilateral dialogue for the co-design of regulatory proposals and innovative policies. In this way, GenerAzione Talento will be proposed not only as a corporate initiative, but as a strategic lever supporting the entire country system.
