Genoa: false alarm over a suspicious briefcase outside a bank – it was detonated and no explosives were found

A bomb scare in Via Ceccardi, Genoa, where a black briefcase was found in the early afternoon outside the Intesa bank branch. It was spotted by an employee of the bank, who called 112.

It turned out to be a false bomb scare. The briefcase was blown up.

The examination revealed no explosive substances. As a precautionary measure, Via Ceccardi and the neighbouring Via Carducci had been partially closed.
