In Germany, the federal police will be able to shoot down suspicious drones at low altitude. A bill, announced by Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt but still to be approved in parliament, comes after raids in recent weeks on strategic European infrastructure.
Some had even arrived in Germany. On 4 October, sightings of large aircraft caused Munich Airport, Germany's second busiest airport, to close.
Therefore, Bavaria had already moved in this regard with a measure to shoot down drones.
A few days earlier, there had been other incursions in Denmark, precisely on the days when the EU summit was held, where European defence was discussed. In all cases, the origin was not clarified, but the suspicion is that Russia is responsible for the incidents.
