Germany: industrial production up 0.9% in May, unchanged year-on-year

(Il Sole 24 Ore Radiocor) - According to provisional data from the Federal Statistical Office (Destatis), industrial production in Germany, in real terms (adjusted for prices), rose by 0.9 per cent in May 2026 compared with the previous month, after adjusting for seasonal and calendar effects. The less volatile quarterly comparison showed a 0.1% increase in output for the period March–May 2026 compared with the previous quarter. Following the revision of the provisional figures, production rose by 0.2% in April 2026 compared with March 2026 (provisional figure: +0.4%). Compared with May 2025, output in May 2026 remained unchanged (0.0%) after adjusting for calendar effects.
